Miss California International Casting

Immersive Fashion Live Event Part 1

Miss California International 2026 Casting Part 1 — contestant presenting in the casting room, captured in 8K 3D VR180
Stereoscopic HDR 8K 3D VR180
Concept

An immersive look inside the Miss California International casting process, placing the viewer in the room as contestants arrive, prepare, and step forward to showcase their walk, presence, and personality.

What Was Captured
  • ArrivalsContestants entering the casting venue and settling in before their call time.
  • The WalkEach contestant's walk and turn, framed at eye level so the viewer reads posture, pacing, and confidence the way the room does.
  • PresenceIntroductions and direct address to the panel — the personality that a flat highlight reel tends to flatten out.
  • The RoomThe casting space itself, including the panel's vantage point and the ambient sound of the day.
Immersive Format

Shot in stereoscopic 8K 3D VR180 with HDR, so the viewer holds true depth and scale: the distance between them and a contestant reads correctly, and the room has real volume rather than the flat backdrop of conventional video. VR180 was chosen deliberately over full 360° — the story here lives in one direction, in front of the panel, and a 180° field keeps the viewer oriented and resolution concentrated where the action is.

Delivered for Apple Vision Pro as the primary playback target, with support for other VR headsets. Playback is passive and seated — no controllers, no navigation, nothing to learn.

Creative Purpose

Pageant organizations have historically had one way to show the world what casting looks like: photos and edited recap video. Both ask the audience to take the room's word for it. This piece was produced to give Miss California International an asset that does the opposite — it hands the audience the room itself, at the exact moment the competition actually begins.

For the organization, that turns an internal, closed-door stage of the process into something presentable: a recruitment tool for prospective contestants who want to know what they are walking into, a sponsor-facing demonstration that the program invests in current production technology, and an archive of the 2026 class captured with far more fidelity than a highlight reel retains.

For BARE Immersive, the project established the immersive-media role inside a live pageant production — proving that spatial capture can sit inside a working event without interrupting it, and that the format holds up for fashion and presentation work where posture, proximity, and presence are the entire point.

  • Recruitment and outreach asset showing prospective contestants the real casting environment
  • Sponsor and partner-facing proof of production investment
  • High-fidelity archive of the 2026 casting class
  • Established BARE Immersive's Director of Immersive Media role within the production
